Under the guidance of an outstanding staff directed by Jefferson Forest High School (Forest, Virginia) Head Coach Jedd Zaring, the Blue Ridge Soccer Academy has been helping players become better since 1993. Our philosophy is to enhance the technical skills and tactical understanding of our campers in an atmosphere in which the creative, competitive, and social growth of the individual can be maximized-while still having a great time!

Players are grouped according to ability, experience, maturity, and competitive spirit.  Our staff employs the latest techniques of the United States Soccer Federation and National Soccer Coaches Association of America, as well as integrating the MicroSoccer system into the curriculum for our younger players. With a staff to player ratio of 1:8, our coaches can give the individual attention that every player needs and wants. Every camper has the opportunity to participate in an equal amount of playing time in training and game situations to maximize the learing experience. 

The Cavalier Soccer Camp at FYAA Rec Park is designed to expose young players to the basic technical skills of the game and to improve the skill base of more experienced players.  It is also a great opportunity for rec teams to experience a week of "pre-season training" before the Fall season gets underway.

The camp curriculum has been developled by the Jefferson Forest Soccer Staff in accordance with the methods of the U.S.S.F. and N.S.C.A.A.  The staff consists of local high school and college coaches, assisted by JF Boys and Girls players.

The emphasis will be on exposing players to many new skills and techniques so they can become more comfortable with the ball and improve their confidence during games.  We employ the MicroSoccer system, using smaller fields and goals and fewer players on each team to ensure that each player gets thousands of touches on the ball.  The primary goal of the Cavalier Soccer Camp, however, is to provide a fun atmosphere where kids of all abilities can shine.
